tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-step-3-configure-the-mysql-database\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_3_Configure_the_MySQL_Database\"><\/span>Step 3: Configure the MySQL Database<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AzerothCore uses three databases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><code>acore_auth<\/code> \u2014 authentication and account information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>acore_characters<\/code> \u2014 character and player data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>acore_world<\/code> \u2014 game-world information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a new installation, AzerothCore provides an SQL script for creating the databases and database user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Run:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo mysql &lt; ~\/azerothcore\/data\/sql\/create\/create_mysql.sql<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Only use this initialization script on a fresh installation.<\/strong> The script also recreates the default database user, which could disrupt existing configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The script creates an <code>acore<\/code> account with a default password. Change that password before using the installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open MySQL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo mysql<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Change the account password:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>ALTER USER 'acore'@'localhost'\nIDENTIFIED BY 'YOUR_STRONG_PASSWORD';<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Replace the placeholder with a strong, unique password. Keep it private and update the corresponding database credentials in the configuration files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exit MySQL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>EXIT;<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AzerothCore includes an automatic database updater that initializes and updates the required tables when the relevant server processes start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don&#8217;t need to manually import every database update file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-step-4-prepare-the-required-game-data\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_4_Prepare_the_Required_Game_Data\"><\/span>Step 4: Prepare the Required Game Data<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AzerothCore requires game-world data compatible with the 3.3.5a environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is separate from the open-source server code and requires particular care with proprietary assets and licensing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main data directories include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><th>Directory<\/th><th>Purpose<\/th><\/tr><tr><td><code>dbc<\/code><\/td><td>Game configuration and reference data<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><code>maps<\/code><\/td><td>Terrain and map information<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><code>vmaps<\/code><\/td><td>Collision and line-of-sight data<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><code>mmaps<\/code><\/td><td>Navigation and movement data<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AzerothCore provides extraction tools for preparing this data from a compatible client installation where you have the necessary rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The extraction workflow uses tools such as <code>map_extractor<\/code>, <code>vmap4_extractor<\/code>, <code>vmap4_assembler<\/code>, and <code>mmaps_generator<\/code>.
